How to Setup Skrill for your Online Store

Skrill has two types of users: individuals and merchants. To individuals it serves as an online deposit account and a low-cost, internet-based alternative to traditional money transfer methods such as cheques, money orders and wire transfers. On the other hand to merchants, Moneybookers allows accepting online payments made with major payment cards, like VISA or Mastercard, or Moneybookers’ own online accounts.

Currently the service has around 25 million customers, including 120,000 merchant accounts being its payment gateway integrated by a number of global online brands such as Facebook, Skype and eBay. It is usually considered as a cost-effective alternative to PayPal.

The merchant fees of both services are similar but often merchants choose Skrill because it is available in more countries/currencies and the possibility to use local payments, especially in Germany (Giropay), Poland or Netherlands (iDeal).

1. Create an account

   If you already have created an account please move on to the second step. In order to sign up, you just have to go to skrill.com and then click on “Sign up”. You will take around two minutes to complete the task after providing some basic information.

You need a business account with Skrill. Personal accounts won’t work.

Once you have created a Skrill account, it will be automatically activated within 2 working days. Next you need to activate it within Jumpseller, to do this you need to log into the merchant tools section of your Skrill account and enter a secret word (different from your password),

1. Add the Skrill payment method to Jumpseller

• Check if your store is set to one of eligible countries , (e.g. Brazil) : Go Admin Panel > Settings > General > Preferences > General Settings section:
  

  

• Add Skrill as a payment method at Admin Panel > Settings > Checkout > Payments:
  

  

• Insert your e-mail address associated to your Skrill account and click on Save. You can rename the payment method:
