Refund Policy Generator

Build a refund and return policy for your online store. Pick your jurisdiction, set your return window and rules, then copy or download. Everything runs in your browser.
This is a template, not legal advice. This policy is boilerplate to get you started. Consumer return and refund rights are set by law and you cannot offer less than the legal minimum. Have the result reviewed by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before you publish it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this refund policy legally binding?

It is a practical template based on common e-commerce rules, but it is not legal advice. You cannot offer customers less than the statutory minimum in your country, so have a qualified lawyer review it before publishing.

How long should my return window be?

In the EU and UK, distance-selling rules give consumers at least 14 days to withdraw from a purchase, and many stores offer 30 days or more to stay competitive. In the US there is no federal minimum, so the window is up to you. Set whatever you can honour consistently.

Who should pay for return shipping?

It is your choice for change-of-mind returns: many stores ask the customer to pay, while others cover it to reduce friction. For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, you should always cover the return cost, as this is required by law in most jurisdictions.

What items can I mark as non-returnable?

Typically personalised or custom-made goods, perishable items, sealed hygiene or intimate products once opened, digital downloads and gift cards. Even then, faulty items must still be refundable under consumer law.

Is anything I enter uploaded to a server?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs and the copy, TXT and PDF exports never leave your device.
